When is the application due?
The application must be received electronically by midnight on March 31, 2009
to be considered for the 2009 Global Heroes program.
Can I mail in my application?
No. Only electronic applications will be accepted. Please click on Apply
above to view the application.
When will I be notified if I am selected as a Global Hero?
Global Heroes will be notified via email or mail in early May.
Does my medical device need to be manufactured by Medtronic to
qualify?
No. All runners with eligible medical devices are welcome to apply with
no restriction on manufacturer.
Which medical devices or conditions are eligible?
See Medtronic Global Heroes Guidelines for
details.
Do I have to live in the United States to be eligible for the
paid travel expenses?
No. We welcome applications from runners across the globe.
Are there any age restrictions for eligibility?
Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
Do I need to consult with a physician before I apply?
Runners with eligible devices or conditions must consult with a physician
who deems you medically fit to participate in the race (certification
of physician approval to participate must be presented if runner is selected
for the Global Heroes program).
Are Medtronic or Twin Cities Marathon employees eligible?
No. Medtronic and Twin Cities Marathon, Inc. employees and their immediate
family members are not eligible.
