Air Emissions

Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are emitted as gasses from certain solids and liquids. In fiscal year 2011, Medtronic generated 133 metric tonnes of VOC air emissions. This represents a 4.5 percent decrease from fiscal year 2010 when normalized to revenue. Implementation of process modifications at our locations in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, USA and Puerto Rico substantially contributed to this decrease.
