Surgical Technologies is Medtronic’s sixth-largest business. Through our partnership with surgeons and nurses in the field, we develop innovative technology and techniques that improve patients’ lives. The Surgical Technologies business designs and manufactures products for the diagnosis and treatment of ear, nose, and throat (ENT) diseases and cranial, spinal, and neurologic conditions. Many of our products are minimally invasive. This business comprises the following divisions:

Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT)

Our products help physicians provide relief to patients with ENT disorders, such as sinusitis, diseases of the head and neck, thyroid conditions, and sleep-disordered breathing. Key product lines include:

Neurologic Technologies

We develop surgical devices and implantable products for the treatment of cranial, spinal and neurologic diseases, including hydrocephalus, spinal disorders, cranial tumors, and vascular lesions. Our main product lines include the following:

Navigation and Imaging

By providing highly accurate visualization tools, we help surgeons make more informed decisions in the operating room, reduce surgery time, reduce patient risk, and potentially improve surgical outcomes. Our surgical navigation and intraoperative imaging solutions deliver real-time feedback on patient anatomy, instrument position, pathology status, and therapy placement for both preoperative procedure planning and intraoperative confirmation.
