Diversity: Programs and Education

With operations in more than 120 countries, our employees have to be successful in the global marketplace. They regularly work with diverse teams in a variety of settings. To help them do that effectively, we provide numerous education and training programs.

From their first day on the job, Medtronic employees begin to build a foundation of cultural understanding. An interactive training session helps new employees understand how critical diversity is to fulfilling the Medtronic Mission, and how judgments impact our behavior and work environment.

Inclusion education is also woven into the fabric of our career development programs. For example, managers are trained on how to lead diverse groups. They explore their own tendencies to include or exclude others, and develop action plans to improve their ability to lead in our inclusive culture.

We encourage employees to participate in brown bag discussions, our company-wide multicultural book club, and other informal learning opportunities to help them become successful in a diverse environment.
