An Innovative Industry Initiative

As part of Medtronic's commitment to increasing health equity and improving access to life-changing therapies, we have developed Every Patient First, a grassroots health equity initiative.

Together with healthcare providers, policy makers, professional societies, and patient advocacy groups, we're tackling healthcare disparities on several fronts, including:

  • Working with providers on identifying and addressing disparities through the review of patient records.
  • Distributing clinic-based tools to help increase adherence to clinical guidelines.
  • Conducting customized educational programs for healthcare providers and medical societies.
  • Providing fellowships for minority and female healthcare providers.
  • Developing health literacy materials for patients.
  • Ensuring quality care measures are developed, instituted and followed in partnership with healthcare systems.

By bringing the issue of healthcare disparities to light and working to overcome inequities, we can help more people in more ways.

National Recognition

Medtronic's early work in driving healthcare equity, which began as a pilot program in CRDM, was so effective in raising awareness about healthcare disparities that it earned Medtronic two prestigious industry awards.
