Product Overview

Performer^® CPB. Performer^® CPB is an advanced extracorporeal circulatory support system that incorporates advanced features for emerging arrested heart procedures and is compatible with the techniques you use today. The Performer^® CPB has a small footprint—1/3rd the size of legacy systems. With the ability to run advanced mini-system procedures close to the patient and at table height, the Performer^® CPB has a greater capability of maximizing your investment dollars well into the future, while meeting the day-to-day requirements of your current arrested heart procedures.

Resting Heart^® System. The Medtronic Resting Heart^® System is a complete, intuitive system designed to address the traditional challenges of arrested heart surgery. It features an integrated, low-prime arrested heart system with minimal air-blood interface, elimination of anti-foam agents, Carmeda^®* BioActive Surface tip-to-tip, Active Air Removal technology, and unique, minimally invasive cannulae and venting options.

Adult Oxygenation Systems. The AFFINITY^® NT Oxygenator is the top selling oxygenator brand in the world. The AFFINITY^® NT Oxygenator is noted for consistent, efficient gas transfer, minimized blood shear, low priming volume and low blood side pressure drop; and for its powerful heat exchanger. AFFINITY^® NT Oxygenators are available with Trillium^® ** Biosurface and Carmeda^®* BioActive Surface. Medtronic’s Surgical Membrane Oxygenators feature a silicone membrane with unique gas transfer properties that are chosen by clinicians all around the world for life-saving procedures.

Pediatric Oxygenation Systems. Minimax Plus^® Oxygenator efficient fiber geometry enhances oxygen transfer to give you all the quality and performance you'll need to treat a wider range of pediatric patients, from neonates to children, requiring flow rates up to a full 2.3 LPM. A Carmeda^®* Minimax Plus^® Oxygenator is also available.

Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) Products from Medtronic are used for long-term support and are recognized as the standard for ECMO procedures. For more than two decades, Medtronic Perfusion Systems ECMO products have been helping to save lives worldwide.

T2T™ Heparin Biocompatible Surfaces mimic critical properties of the vascular endothelium to provide thromboresistance and biocompatibility for extracorporeal circuits and include the world's two best-selling brands of biocompatible surfaces for cardiopulmonary bypass: Carmeda^®* BioActive Surface, recognized as the "Gold Standard" in biocompatible surfaces, and Trillium^® ** Biosurface.

Arterial Blood Pumps. The Bio-Pump^® Centrifugal Pump's smooth, rotating cones use viscous drag to create a smooth and gentle pumping action that reduces blood shear and hemolysis. That's why the Bio-Pump^® brand is recognized as the leading centrifugal pump for cardiopulmonary bypass in the world. It is provided in both adult and pediatric models and is also available with Carmeda^®* BioActive Surface.

Cardioplegia Systems. The MYOtherm XP^® Cardioplegia Delivery System is specially designed for low prime, efficient heat transfer, and excellent air handling capability in an easy to set-up configuration. It is available with Trillium^® Biosurface and Carmeda^®* BioActive Surface.

Bio-Cal^® Blood Temperature Controller. The BioCal^® 370 is a compact blood temperature controller.

Arterial Filters. The AFFINITY^® Arterial Filter is the world's leading arterial filter brand, with an ease of prime, effective air handling, and effective filtration in 20 micron and 38 micron configurations. It is available with Trillium^® Biosurface and Carmeda^®* BioActive Surface. The AFFINITY^® Pediatric Arterial Filter gives you the flexibility for both your infant and pediatric patients combined with the important characteristics for which the adult AFFINITY^® Arterial Filter is well known.

Reservoirs. Medtronic perfusion reservoir systems are designed to give you confidence and peace of mind, incorporating features that optimize safety and ease of use.

Medtronic^® Custom Perfusion Systems are designed to meet your needs, and the needs of the environment, by offering the finest quality components assembled to your exact specifications and packaged with consideration to setup efficiency and respect for the environment (less packaging). From cannula tip to cannula tip, Medtronic^® Custom Perfusion Systems may be designed using Carmeda^®* and Trillium^® ** coated components.

Blood Oxygenation Monitoring. The BioTrend^® Oxygenation Saturation and Hematocrit System provides real-time information, alerting you immediately to any changes in your patient's blood values.

Hemoconcentrators. Medtronic is pleased to be a distributor of Minntech^®† Hemocor^®† Hemoconcentrators for adult and pediatric patients requiring hemoconcentration.

Hemostasis Management. Improved hemostasis management results in fewer complications associated with excessive blood loss,¹ reduces hemostasis activation² and preserves the coagulation system³ The associated benefits are reduced blood product utilization, fewer transfusion³ and decreased associated costs⁴

The HMS Plus Hemostasis Management System is a reliable, versatile and effective platform for accurate hemostasis management³ The HMS Plus System allows multiple tests to optimize your clinical decision. This results in lower procedural and operational costs^{1, 2, 4}

The portable ACT Plus^® Automated Coagulation Timer, offers precise, reliable testing in heparin management and is well suited for all point-of-care testing, including: cardiovascular and vascular surgery, cardiac catheterization labs, critical care and hemodialysis units.

Autotransfusion. The autoLog™ Autotransfusion System is a sophisticated device with an exceptionally effective design that provides autologous blood during surgical procedures. Autologous red blood cell salvage is a safe, reliable and cost-effective method of returning red blood cells to a patient.

Platelet Therapy. More surgery teams are using the original technology of the Magellan^® Autologous Platelet Separator System to harness platelets. Designed with input from experts in autologous blood component utilization, this lightweight, portable, closed-system separator requires only a small amount of a patient's blood and delivers consistent, platelet-rich plasma regardless of operator or patient variability. User flexibility allows the clinician to customize the platelet concentration in order to meet changing requirements.
