Advanced Arrested Heart Lung Machines Complement Medtronic's Market Leading Heart Bypass Disposables

Medtronic Perfusion Systems has signed an agreement with Jostra Corp. granting Medtronic exclusive US distribution rights of Jostra Corp's Cardiopulmonary Heart Lung machines and related hardware. The Heart Lung Machine is the pumping hardware commonly associated with heart bypass surgery and is used in conjunction with sophisticated oxygenation disposables of which Medtronic is a market leader.

"This agreement to provide our US customers with world class pumping hardware demonstrates Medtronic's continued commitment to the field of arrested heart surgery," says Chuck Brynelsen, Vice President and General Manager of Medtronic Perfusion Systems. "We are making it as easy as possible for our customers to obtain best-in-class arrested heart surgical equipment and disposables from a single trusted source," Brynelsen added.

The new US arrangement will have Medtronic providing all sales and product evaluation activities covering the 50 US States and will leverage Jostra Corp's core competency to support these efforts with equipment installation, onsite service and data management requirements.
