Suction
The functions of these devices are to keep the surgical field clear of blood and debris. There are variations in design depending on purpose for suction:
- coronary anastomosis suckers
(fine suction)
- macrosuckers (gross suction)
- cardiac vents (LV venting)
- pericardial sump (gross suction)
