MAGELLAN® Autologous Platelet Separator
System Overview
Pioneer in Technology
Harnessing the healing
power of platelets
|
Medtronic has been a key participant in the area of blood component therapies for more than a decade. Previous Medtronic autotransfusion systems allowed clinicians to implement applications for concentrated platelets, as well as to determine requirements for a new, dedicated system for producing platelet-rich plasma (PRP) for a small amount of autologous blood. We continue to promote blood conservation and autologous platelet component therapies, and take this research and development to the next level with the new Magellan® Autologous Platelet Separator System.
Superior Performance
- Magellan® System provides consistent platelet concentration.
- Consistently reproducible results are independent of operator and patient variability.
- Closed system, start-to-finish, reduces operator error and minimizes contamination.
Built-In Efficiency
- Small, portable platelet separator-ideal for use in a variety of clinical settings.
- Variable input (whole blood) and output (PRP) allow clinicians to customize volume requirements to meet specific clinical needs.
- Requires a small amount of blood.
Cost Effective
- Magellan® System has the potential to replace more expensive technologies at a lower cost.
- Up to three cycles can be conducted with the same patient-eliminating the cost of additional separation disposables.
- Ease of use reduces training time and expenditure.
Ease of Use
- Intuitive user interface reduces training time and related expenditures.
