Better Blood Flow

The absence of a stent and sewing ring leaves more room for blood to flow through the Freestyle® bioprosthesis. This high-speed footage taken from a pulse duplicator shows how much larger the Freestyle valve's opening is (left), compared with a stented valve of the same size.

In many cases, a Freestyle valve that is one to two sizes larger than a stented tissue or mechanical valve can be implanted in the patient, who then benefits from greater blood flow.
