Hancock® II Aortic and Mitral Bioprostheses
Maximized Flow Area
The Hancock® II manufacturing process provides excellent hemodynamics without the need for a composite design.
- Valves are shaped with precision mandrels, a process which serves to "circularize" the valve, maximizing the available orifice area. This unique fixation process produces a valve which minimizes the septal shelf, and the aortic wall is shaped without shaving or trimming.
- The Hancock® II stent is less bulky than previous models so a larger valve can be mounted in the stent.
The result of the process is enhanced valve geometry, ensuring the design of the natural valve is exploited, maintaining good coaptation and maximum flow area. [Wright]
