Hancock® II Aortic and Mitral Bioprostheses
Supra-annular Placement
The sewing ring of the Hancock II valve is mounted flush with the inflow edge of the scalloped stent. The internal diameter is aligned with the patient's annulus. This supra-annular placement allows blood flow through the annulus to encounter only tissue, not obstructive components such as the stent and sewing ring; therefore you can implant a larger valve and maximize flow area.1
