Mosaic® and Mosaic Ultra® Bioprostheses

Physiologic Fixation™* Process

The Mosaic® bioprosthesis uses a unique tissue-preservation process called Physiologic Fixation. While the aortic root is pressurized to maintain its natural anatomical shape, zero-pressure fixation preserves the leaflet structure and provides leaflets that function similarly to fresh aortic valves.

Physiologic Fixation Process

Simultaneously applying pressure to the inflow and outflow portions of a porcine bioprosthesis allows the leaflets to float freely at zero-pressure differential within a pressurized root.

* No clinical data are available that evaluate the long-term impact of the Physiological Fixation Process in patients.
