EOPA CAP®EOPA CAP®
Central Arterial Pressure monitoring cannulae

Accuracy under pressure

Make critical patient management decisions with more confidence when using the Medtronic EOPA CAP® Central Arterial Pressure monitoring cannula.

The Medtronic EOPA CAP® arterial cannula provides a simple solution to obtaining accurate arterial pressure readings. An innovative combination of arterial perfusion cannula with integral pressure monitoring line, the EOPA CAP® can provide a real-time display of accurate central arterial pressure readings that you can rely on when making pressure management decisions.

The management of perfusion, and even more importantly, the successful weaning of a patient from CPB, depend on your ability to accurately measure the patient’s blood pressure. During the critical weaning period, the discrepancy between central arterial pressures and radial artery or other pressure measurements puts the pressure on you to make patient management decisions, often with less than optimal data. Until now, the only way to obtain accurate central pressures was to place a needle in the aorta.

Surgeons, anesthesiologists, and perfusionists will immediately recognize the value of the EOPA CAP® cannula pressure monitoring features:

  • The continuous, real-time display of accurate blood pressure lets you manage and discontinue CPB and make other clinical decisions more quickly and with confidence.
  • Accurate pressure information gives you the ability to better adjust CPB flow; better use medications (pressors, innotropes); and eliminate the need to place a pressure needle in the aorta.
  • Standard-sized cannula with standard-sized integrated monitoring lumen and standard insertion techniques.
  • Simple, standard perfusion configuration with no additional equipment required.

Key design features of the EOPA CAP® cannula:

  • Integral pressure lumen with luer-lock three way stopcock connection.
  • Pressure monitoring hole outside arterial flow lumen.
  • The versatile design of the EOPA CAP® facilitates peripheral or central arterial cannulation techniques.
