KAVD™ Venous Cannulae

Bridging the gap between the patient and the Medtronic® Resting Heart® System

KAVD Venous CannulaThe KAVD™ Venous Cannula is the first of its kind. It is a combination of cannulae/venous line designed to “bridge the gap” between the patient and the Medtronic® Resting Heart® System circuit.

The KAVD™ Venous Cannula replaces the lengthy, thick-walled venous table line with a wire-wound, thin walled high-flow cannula body. Its three-basket tip and thin wall wire-wound body are designed with the common goals of the surgeon and perfusionist in mind – improved flow performance and reduced hemodilution.

The entire 46 inch length of the cannula is wire-wound to maximize its resistance to collapse or kinking during kinetic venous drainage while also providing thin wall construction to allow flow superior to much larger 3/8-inch standard venous line tubing.

The KAVD™ Venous Cannula’s Quick Connect provides a free rotating connection between the Medtronic® Resting Heart® System circuit and the cannula body to alleviate line torque and twisting commonly seen with venous lines.
