Increase Awareness. Take Action.

HeartRescue takes on sudden cardiac arrest, the leading killer of Americans.

The HeartRescue Project promotes frontline action within communities to recognize, respond, treat and report SCA.

The HeartRescue Project is a collaborative effort supported by the Medtronic Foundation to increase sudden cardiac arrest survival rates in the United States.

The goal is for every American who suffers sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) to receive lifesaving, state-of-the-art care at the scene, en route and in the hospital.

The HeartRescue Project supports select programs that promote and measure community education about SCA, public and professional training, application of proven treatments and post-resuscitation care for SCA survivors. These programs are designed to reach the general public, first responders (police/fire), emergency medical services (EMS) and hospital staff.

The HeartRescue Partners

Five organizations renowned for their resuscitation excellence have joined forces to definitively and systematically reduce the number of people who die each year from SCA. While these centers have made great progress in their regions and in their areas of research and expertise, the Medtronic Foundations HeartRescue Project will help expand their programs geographically, as well as provide the opportunity to share best practices.

The objective of the HeartRescue Project is to improve SCA victim survival rates by 50 percent over the next five years within the partner states. More...
