Donation Frequently Asked Questions
How will I know Medtronic received my request?
Once you have submitted a request through the Medtronic Donations website, you will receive an automatic acknowledgement sent to the email address that you provided in the request. The request will be automatically logged in the Grants and Donations database.
Can I save my request as a draft and complete it at a later time?
Yes. The bottom of each page contains a “Save and Finish Later” button that saves a copy of your request. To access the request, go to “My Account” and login. The request you saved will be displayed under “open” requests. The system will save a request for 120 days from the time the form was last edited date the request was initially saved. Saved requests over 120 days old since the last edit will be deleted.
Why will my request take up to 60 days to process?
The review process may take less than 60 days for certain types of requests. The review process begins once all required supporting documentation is received. Each request requires careful review to ensure compliance with the U.S. Business Conduct Standards and the AdvaMed Code of Ethics
What is the Eligibility Quiz at the start of the request form?
An eligibility quiz is an initial set of questions to determine whether a requester is working with the correct request form and that the organization meets Medtronic’s guidelines for being able to receive a grant. If the eligibility quiz fails, then a requester has either selected the wrong form or the request can’t be approved by Medtronic for compliance and/or legal reasons.
How do I ensure my request is submitted to the correct Medtronic business?
Each request form allows a requester to select up to three Medtronic businesses (except for Fellowship Grants and Research Requests). Each business in the list contains a description of the therapies they work with to assist you in selecting the right business. Only the Neuromodulation and CardioVascular businesses will be displayed during the initial pilot phase of this system. The remaining Medtronic businesses will be added in late March, 2009.
If the wrong business is selected within the request, the Grant Administrator receiving the request will forward the request to the correct Medtronic business.
Why are not all Medtronic businesses listed on some request forms?
Some Medtronic businesses do not currently accept some types of requests or the requests are managed by another group within Medtronic. Additionally, some types of grants are only awarded at specific times within the year. If you do not see a specific business listed for the type of request you’re submitting, please contact that business for more information.
What constitutes a complete request?
Each request requires specific information. Additionally, certain Medtronic businesses require additional information that others may not. A request is considered complete when all the documentation has been received. A Medtronic Grant Administrator will notify you if additional information is required in order to process your request.
Our 501(c) (3) status is presently pending. Will our organization still qualify for a grant?
No. Pending status will disqualify your grant. Please submit your request once status has been determined.
The request form for events requires us to attach our agenda/program, but it hasn't been printed and a commitment on funding is necessary before we finalize the program. Can we send a copy of last year’s agenda or program as an example? Can we send a draft of the program?
If the event is going to be very similar to last year’s event, a copy of the prior year’s program, agenda and/or brochure can be submitted as a guideline. However, complete details on this year’s program (including specific topics) are required before a decision will be made.
Can we request support from more than one Medtronic business?
Yes. The request forms allow a requester to select up to three Medtronic businesses. Please provide the total amount you’re requesting from all Medtronic businesses when asked for the amount you’re requesting.
