rate - The number of times a stimulating pulse is delivered each second.
red blood cell (RBC) - Cellular elements contained in shole blood that are directly erythrocytes responsible for the transport of oxygen in the bloodstream and indirectly responsible for carbon dioxide transport.
red blood cell salvage - A method of gathering and saving autologous blood components before, during or after a surgical procedure. These components are often separated or washed, and returned to the patient.
