Product Donations

The breadth of the Covidien product line has great appeal to many charitable organizations. Annually, Medtronic donates millions of dollars in important healthcare products to support global health and humanitarian needs. From wound dressings and endotracheal tubes, to generators and surgical supplies, product donations have long been an integral part of our charitable giving.

Medtronic works closely with three key product donation partners: AmeriCares, Direct Relief International and MedShare (contact information below), to distribute our products to nonprofit organizations and in-country clinics around the world in response to disasters and also to support specific programs for underserved populations.

In addition, some of our products are made available to advance ongoing global medical missions through AmeriCares. AmeriCares offers a Medical Outreach Program (MOP) that donates Medtronic and other companies’ medical products to qualified U.S. healthcare professionals and nonprofits who will use these products to provide charitable medical care to those in developing countries outside of the United States.

We recently introduced a PAP to assist people who do not have the financial resources to support their medical supplies needs. Phase 1 of this program includes select wound care and incontinence products.
