The business model of hospitals and suppliers is evolving into a new collaborative approach.  The core of this new approach is centered around maximizing value for patients  - achieving the best outcomes at the lowest cost.  Every hospital is unique and therefore the approach, structure and execution of these new hospital supplier relationships vary greatly from organization to organization.  However, most new models are focused around defining symbiotic partnerships that add mutual value from a financial, clinical and operational perspective.
