The Emprint™ ablation system powered by Thermosphere™ technology offers three kinds of spatial energy control — thermal, field and wavelength — to maintain predictable, spherical ablation zones throughout your procedures.

By employing novel Thermosphere™ technology, the Emprint™ ablation system is able to maintain a spherical active heating zone across tissue types and throughout an ablation procedure despite tissue desiccation. In fact, the Emprint™ ablation system has demonstrated improved performance in both an in vivo and ex vivo tissue model in comparison to microwave ablation technology on the market today, and in regard to ablation size and shape.

Combined with precise power delivery from the Emprint™ generator, Thermosphere™ technology creates predictable ablation zones across a wide range of tissue types — giving clinicians the confidence they need to deliver the best possible patient outcomes. 


The Emprint ablation system is intended for use in percutaneous, laparoscopic, and intraoperative coagulation (ablation) of soft tissue, including partial or complete ablation of non-resectable liver tumors. The Emprint™ ablation system is not intended for use in cardiac procedures.

Wavelength Control makes Thermosphere™ technology different. Other technologies in the market may have field and/or thermal control but wavelength is the differentiator that maintains a spherical shape throughout the ablation. Wavelength Control minimizes the elongation of the wavelength on the radiator to maintain effective field control.

With Thermosphere™ technology the Emprint™ ablation system creates predictable ablation zones across a wide range of tissue types.1 This increases confidence for achieving planned results with precision and consistency on every procedure.

Additionally, the ability to create both small and large spherical ablation zones with a single antenna may reduce procedure times and costs.2
