Depth: Functional Areas
Leadership Development Rotation Program participants
develop their careers in one of the following
functional areas within the company:
Marketing:
Typical assignments may include rotations in
brand management, market development, business
development, product planning, healthcare economics,
and reimbursement.
Finance:
Representative assignments may include rotations dealing
with acquisition/divestiture business modeling,
valuation of R&D or venture developments,
analysis of pricing strategies, and capacity
expansion decision analysis.
Supply Chain:
Assignments may include strategic roles
on projects such as optimizing distribution and
customer service processes, designing a global
order to cash process, implementing RFID
technology, and implementing Lean Sigma practices
and process recommendations.
Human Resources:
Typical assignments may include specialist
rotations in compensation, benefits,
diversity, leadership development, talent
acquisition, organization development and/or
generalist roles as HR business partners.
Information Technology:
Assignments may include providing
strategic IT leadership in each of the
businesses or geographies on projects like
sales force automation, eBusiness initiatives,
Centerpiece (Medtronic’s global SAP
implementation), or quality systems.
Breadth: Core Business Sectors & Geographies
Program participants
are given the opportunity to experience
the full breadth of Medtronic through
assignments in two of the following areas.
