Medicare Reimbursement – AF Related

Coverage

• Reimbursement for the use of Reveal^® XT ICM with atrial fibrillation (AF) is currently undefined by payers.
• Medtronic recommends that customers wanting to use Reveal XT ICM for AF monitoring first contact the patient’s payer to seek pre-authorization.
• Sample pre-authorization letters are available through the Medtronic reimbursement resource line: 1-866-877-4102, option 1. Medtronic cannot directly advocate on behalf of the provider to the payer.
• It is the provider’s responsibility to assign the appropriate diagnosis code as reason for inserting the device.
