Monopolar sealers are used in thoracic surgery

Medtronic Advanced Energy products deliver proprietary Transcollation^® technology, a combination of radiofrequency (RF) energy and saline that provides hemostatic sealing of soft tissue and bone during surgery. Using our monopolar sealers enables surgeons to treat soft tissue areas around the plane of dissection and spot treat bleeding on the ribs and sternum during thoracic surgical procedures.
