Sof-sensor
Glucose sensor and transmitter from insulin pump
How It Works
The tiny glucose sensor is inserted, virtually painlessly, under the skin using an easy-to-use auto-insertion device.*
About the Glucose Sensor
- Measures current glucose levels continuously
- Proven accuracy in numerous studies1-3
- Fingersticks are required before adjusting insulin delivery and to calibrate the glucose sensor†
- Waterproof when attached to MiniLink Transmitter
- FDA approved for 3 days of continuous use
* If sensor is not securely placed in Sen-serter prior to insertion, pain or minor injury may occur.
†The sensor should be checked periodically to ensure that it remains in place. If the sensor is disconnected and then reconnected, the signals it sends to the monitor may not be stable or accurate. The sensor may need to be recalibrated (See section titled "Perform the Initial Calibration" in the product manual) before returning to normal operation.

Infusion Sets
Insertable infusion sets for insulin pump
How It Works
Infusion sets deliver insulin from the insulin pump into the body through a thin, plastic tube. At the end of the tubing is a cannula. The cannula is a soft, flexible, small tapered tube. Using an insertion device, the cannula inserts under the skin in place of syringes and delivers insulin. With a cannula, a needle never stays under your skin.
Medtronic Infusion Sets are easy to use, convenient, and comfortable.
Disconnect Options
- At site: disconnects the tubing at the infusion site. Adhesive, connection hub and cannula remain behind
- Away from body: a good option for people with reduced dexterity or vision. Disconnects away from the body where the tubing is easier to see and access. A 4-inch tail, cannula, connection hub and adhesive remain behind
90-degree angle cannula
35-degree angle cannula
Cannula Angle and Length
Different angles change the insertion depth. Your choice of angle and length depends on your body type.
- Extra lean: For very slender people, the Silhouette®’s variable-angle cannula is a good choice
- Lean: Inserts straight into the skin. The 6-mm cannula works well for lean individuals
- Average to above-average weight: A 9-mm cannula is a good choice. Inserts straight into the skin

Proper Insertion Techniques
For proper insertion techniques, patients should follow the Instructions for Use included with the product. The infusion site should be changed every 2 to 3 days according to the Instructions for Use that accompany the infusion sets and reservoirs. Patients should check the amount of insulin remaining in their reservoir at least once a day. Infection at the infusion site is a risk of pump therapy. Patients should check the infusion site often for redness, irritation and inflammation.
Patients should use only the reservoir and infusion sets specifically designed for their pump. Use of non-Medtronic Diabetes reservoirs and/or infusion sets may reduce pump accuracy and hinder occlusion detection. Patients should not modify their reservoir or infusion set. Do not put any other drugs/medications inside the reservoir to use with this pump. Only insulin that has been prescribed by your physician should be used in the pump.
