Henry Endoscopic Parathyroid Surgery Instrument Set
This parathyroid surgery set can facilitate a minimally invasive endoscopic lateral approach to parathyroid surgery, offering exceptional instrument quality and precision.
Henry Endoscopic Parathyroid Surgery Instrument Set
Developed in conjunction with Jean-François Henry, MD
These parathyroid surgery instruments are designed for a minimally invasive endoscopic lateral approach to parathyroid surgery. In this technique, the surgeon develops the plane between the carotid sheath laterally and the strap muscles medially.
This type of parathyroid surgery is performed via one 10.0 mm optic port and two 3.0 mm operating ports, placed on the medial border of the sternocleidomastoid muscle. The "back door" approach allows direct access to the posterior aspect of the thyroid lobe, without the need for the dissection of the strap muscles or medial retraction of the thyroid during the procedure.
This set includes the following instruments for parathyroid surgery:
- A series of insulated monopolar instruments to enable safe and convenient hemostasis
- 3.0 mm trocars to provide operating ports for instrumentation that can be sutured to prevent involuntary removal
- A 10.0 mm trocar ring helps maintain insufflation and traction during parathyroid surgery; it can be affixed with a purse-string suture through skin and muscles to amplify the operative space
