Powered ENT Instruments
Our Powered ENT Instruments provide innovative tools for sinus surgery and endoscopic transnasal surgery into the skull base, as well as other ENT procedures. The multispecialty Integrated Power Console (IPC® System) and Straightshot® M4 Microdebrider facilitate more precise tissue removal, visibility, and surgical access during sinus surgery and endoscopic transnasal surgery. We offer the most comprehensive selection of application-specific blades and burs for your sinus surgery needs, from basic FESS to advanced sinus and transnasal surgical approaches into the skull base.
In addition, our software-driven Endo-Scrub® 2 Lens Cleaning Sheaths help you maintain maximum visualization during sinus surgery without removing the endoscope. Used with the IPC System, it significantly improves the ability to operate in the presence of bleeding.1-6
For chronic sinusitis treatment, our innovative Hydrodebrider® System uses pressurized sinus irrigation to help remove bacteria from sinus cavities during sinus surgery. Research indicates that bacterial infections are intimately associated with chronic rhinosinusitis,7,8 and in vitro research shows that our Hydrodebrider treatment is more effective at disrupting bacteria than saline lavage.9
Fusion ENT Navigation System
Our Fusion ENT Navigation System is an electromagnetic image-guided surgery system that offers reliable accuracy, ease of use, and expandability. Image-guided sinus surgery with the Fusion System can help you navigate each patient's unique anatomy for safer, more thorough sinus surgery and transnasal surgery procedures that occur near the brain, orbit, or carotid artery. It has become the standard of care for many sinus surgeries, including revision surgery, polypectomy, frontal sinus surgery, and posterior ethmoid and sphenoid sinus surgery.
Dissolvable Nasal Packing
To absorb drainage, control minimal bleeding, and prevent the middle turbinate from lateralizing after sinus surgery, Medtronic offers innovative MeroGel® and MeroPack® dissolvable nasal packing. These materials eliminate painful post-op packing removal and use hyaluronic acid to help keep the surgical site moist, reduce adhesions, and decrease healing time following sinus surgery procedures.10
