Medtronic surgical imaging and navigation customer services include education and training, hospital marketing, technical, clinical, and fee per use services, OR integration, and the customer portal.
Education and Training
With satellite facilities around the world, the Medtronic Navigation Education Center for North America is located at our headquarters in Louisville, Colorado. Our center is located a short distance from Boulder and is approximately 45 minutes from Denver International Airport. This dedicated training center, with clinically seasoned trainers and educators, encourages individualized learning and focuses on practical, hands-on learning experiences for our customers.
Our curriculum offers continuing education on surgical imaging and surgical navigation technologies for clinicians, including surgeons, nurses (includes contact hours), and biomedical engineering. The curriculum is designed to provide practical knowledge of the software applications, instrumentation and imaging protocols used with our StealthStation® surgical navigation systems and our O-arm® and PoleStar® intra-operative imaging solutions.

NeuroNavigation Introduction (2 days) – choose between StealthStation Treon or StealthStation S7 to ensure you receive the training that matches your hospital's equipment.
This course emphasizes hands-on learning, demonstrations and teach-backs so that the students feel comfortable to go back to their ORs and support navigated procedures.

- Computer-assisted surgery and how it applies to neurosurgical procedures
- Tracking technologies (active vs passive, optical vs AxiEM™)
- StealthStation system setup, component names
- Cranial software application overview

A prerequisite for this course is six months of experience with the StealthStation in a clinical setting.

Spine Surgical Navigation Training (2 days)
This course will train on the effective use of the StealthStation system for spine procedures. Emphasis will be on understanding the concepts of image-guided surgery, the scanning protocol and imaging options, principles of registration, and techniques for navigation.

Reserving Your Class
Please note that class sizes are limited to ensure individualized learning needs are met. We accept enrollment based on a first-come, first-served basis.
Class Prerequisites
Please ensure you enroll in the correct class, based on the equipment at your hospital. For example, you will need to know if you are working with a StealthStation Treon or a StealthStation S7. We offer different classes that are specific to equipment. Also, please ensure you enroll in the appropriate class for your knowledge level – we encourage you to take the Introduction class prior to the Advanced class.
Fees and Payment
Customers with an active Service and Support Agreement have an annual allotment of course credits. Customers not covered under warranty or service agreement can attend a class based on our fee schedule. A fee also applies once the annual allotment of course credits has been utilized.

To successfully and efficiently manage an operating room, you may need assistance from time to time. Medtronic understands this and provides the following clinical services to support you in delivering the best patient care.
- Surgical Case Support and OR Staff Support – Based on your needs, our Medtronic Computer-Assisted Surgery Specialists (CASS) are available to attend your surgical imaging and surgical navigation cases, provide technology support, and conduct on-site training.
- Clinical Phone Support – Medtronic Clinical Specialists are available 24/7 to help you with a variety of needs, including assistance with surgical navigation system set-up, reviewing software screens, and registering the patient and instruments for navigation.
- Surgical Navigation On-Demand – Our unique fee per use service option called the StealthNavigator® Program makes navigation available to all surgeons and patients on a procedure-by-procedure basis. It’s a full service that provides all the tools, professional expertise, training and technical support necessary for a seamless surgical navigation experience at that instant in time.

Due to its many benefits, Medtronic Navigation is dedicated to making surgical navigation available to all surgeons and patients. Our unique, procedure-based service option called the StealthNavigator® Program offers every hospital access to the same advanced surgical navigation technology and services that Medtronic customers all over the world have come to expect and rely on.
- Affordable – This service package can be tailored to meet the specific needs of each procedure, surgeon and facility – and, because you pay on a per-procedure basis, it’s an affordable way to utilize our technology and services when you need them most.
- Tailored to you – The SteathNavigator Program can be tailored to meet the specific needs of each procedure, surgeon, patient and facility – providing the tools, professional expertise, training and technical support needed to enable the highest level of patient care.
- A full-service experience – The complete StealthNavigator service package includes:
- The StealthStation® iNav™ or StealthStation® S7® (based on hospital needs)
- Procedure-specific software applications, instrumentation and disposables
- On-site clinical and technical professionals
- Delivery and set-up of the navigation system, software and all associated instrumentation and peripherals
- Testing of the system to ensure it is functioning properly prior to surgery
