The Aquamantys® System and bipolar sealers feature innovative Transcollation® technology, a combination of radiofrequency (RF) energy and saline that provides hemostatic sealing of soft tissue and bone during surgery.
Aquamantys Generator
The Aquamantys System consists of a proprietary radiofrequency (RF) generator that delivers Transcollation technology to disposable Aquamantys bipolar sealers.
Features of the Aquamantys Generator include:
- Simultaneous RF power and saline delivery
- Power settings from 20–200 watts
- Automatic settings for saline flow rate based on power setting
- Ability to select three different flow rate settings
- Convenient priming mode
Only disposable devices and accessories specifically recommended by Medtronic Advanced Energy may be used with Aquamantys generators.
SBS 5.0 Sheathed Bipolar Sealer
The SBS 5.0 Sheathed Bipolar Sealer with retractable sheath for use near sensitive tissue
Managing both cut muscle and epidural bleeding may require the use of multiple devices/modalities. The Aquamantys SBS 5.0 Sheathed Bipolar Sealer was designed to optimize speed and continuity of surgical cases by treating both of these needs with one device.
- Delivers Transcollation technology, which has been shown to reduce blood loss during spine surgery1
- Flat-tipped electrodes allow for compression of epidural veins
- Retractable sheath enables simultaneous retraction and electrode use near sensitive tissue such as dura and nerve roots (sheath closed) and hemostatic sealing of soft tissue and bone (sheath open)
