At the Medtronic Foundation, we know that science isn’t contained within the four walls of the classroom. That’s why we’ve sponsored Science Matters, a free 24-page booklet designed to spark discovery and learning through science exploration. The publication is a tool for parents and educators to help K-6 students unlock the world of science and discovery at home and school.
With a blend of ideas, activities and profiles of scientists and their inventions, Science Matters will:
Reinforce the important role of nurturing a child’s natural curiosity and demonstrate that “science is everywhere.”
Give families a comforting understanding of what science is, and what it is not, and future careers in STEM subjects.
Provide a range of interactive explorations and activities.
Provide families with a guide to additional science resources in the community.
Science Matters is currently being used by teachers in the classrooms in the greater Twin City area, and can be found in the October issue of Minneapolis/St. Paul Magazine and the November issue of Northwest Airlines World Traveler onboard publication.
