Heart Rescue Save-A-Life Simulator

HeartRescue Project launches public service announcement (psa) and corresponding online Save-A-Life Simulator

Every day, thousands of Americans die from sudden cardiac arrest. Bystander action can dramatically increase chances of survival. The Medtronic Foundation has launched a public service announcement and corresponding online HeartRescue Save-A-Life Simulator as part of a national campaign to promote proper and timely bystander response to sudden cardiac arrest.

The Save-A-Life Simulator bridges the gap between classroom training and a real crisis. More than 3 million people have run the simulation and saved a virtual life since its launch in April 2012.

As a virtual participant you watch the simulator from your viewpoint and actively participate in the outcome--without real loss of life. The simulator creates the urgency of the crisis and allows you to practice until you learn the optimal reaction – to call 911, start chest compressions, and send someone to find an AED (automated external defibrillator).

View the PSA now. Then check out the 'Save-A-Life' Simulator, an interactive online experience where you are able to decide the fate of a virtual victim, making critical lifesaving choices. Test your skills and prepare yourself.

The HeartRescue Project, funded by the Medtronic Foundation, is dedicated to improving how sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) is recognized, treated and measured in the United States. Community response education is an important component of the program’s mission. Go to the HeartRescue Project resource page for more information about SCA, including education videos, training programs, and information about our partners.
