Medtronic Responds to Minneapolis Bridge Collapse

MINNEAPOLIS – Aug. 3, 2007 –Medtronic (NYSE: MDT) announced today that the Medtronic Foundation has pledged $50,000 to the Twin Cities Chapter of the American Red Cross in direct response to a community-wide request for additional resources for the Local Disaster Relief Fund. That fund will be critical to ongoing disaster relief efforts in Medtronic’s hometown community.

Medtronic also is encouraging employees to donate blood, and providing them with information on regional blood drives. The Red Cross has indicated that blood donations are badly needed to replenish regular supplies.
