COMMUNITYLINK GUIDELINES
United States
Purpose
CommunityLink in the U.S. focuses on making a difference in communities
where we have employees. We focus our giving on programs in the areas
of health, education, arts/civic/culture and human services.
Criteria for Grants
Health
We give priority to programs that help people develop and maintain
healthy lifestyles, and we're particularly interested in programs
that reduce disparities in health care.
Education
We support educational programs from preschool to higher education with a focus on those that stimulate and sustain the interest of young people in science, engineering and healthcare. We consider requests from private and parochial nonprofit schools, school districts and other nonprofit organizations. Priority is given to programs that serve socioeconomically disadvantaged students.
Human Services
We support human service programs in the U.S. that help individuals become more self-sufficient. Programs reach out to a wide range of people. For example:
- Economic literacy programs to help low-income women gain economic stability
- Peer counseling for teens in crisis situations
- Shelters for the homeless
- Subsidized childcare programs for low-income parents
Arts/Civic/Culture
We support programs in the U.S. that celebrate the arts and champion access to the arts in communities where our employees live and work. We look for opportunities to contribute to programs that increase access to the arts, especially for lower-income families. We aid cultural organizations making a significant contribution to the life of the community and support civic organizations addressing the needs of disadvantaged people.
