Our Focus
Leveraging Medtronic's philanthropy to expand access to chronic disease care for the underserved, worldwide.
The Medtronic Foundation, Medtronic Philanthropy's non-profit giving arm, is committed to strategic philanthropy, with the majority of grant programs thoughtfully aligning with the company's commitment to improve access to quality healthcare.
The Medtronic Foundation is continuing to shift more of its focus toward expanding access to quality healthcare, especially for underserved patient populations around the world.
Noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), such as heart disease and diabetes, account for more than 60 percent of all deaths word wide. Since 2010, the Medtronic Foundation has committed more than $7.5 million in NCD-related grants, and will continue to ramp up efforts to support this global effort.
More than ever, programming will address access through collaboration—building partnership of technical experts, policy leaders, funders, other private sector leaders and non-profits.
The Medtronic Foundation and partners are taking a high-level view of existing care systems and the barriers that interrupt the continuum of care, thus identifying important steps to improve the ability of patients to access appropriate care.
By mapping the needs, barriers, and opportunities related to successfully navigating chronic disease care and management, the Medtronic Foundation has identified how it can best improve healthcare systems, in partnership with others committed to the same goal.
