Granted more than $1 million to support Teach for America's Medtronic Math and Science Initiative.

This is a national program designed to:

  • Bring more teachers with science and math skills to classrooms in America's most under-supported schools, and to
  • Support local teacher-quality programs in the Medtronic communities of Minneapolis/St. Paul, Memphis, Tenn. and Jacksonville, Fla.

Minneapolis Public School District

Joined Minnesota companies Cargill and General Mills in a Collaborative for Education Excellence to provide $2.8 million over three years as part of a strategy to improve education in Minneapolis Public Schools.

This grant funds a comprehensive approach to recruiting, training and supporting high-performing principals and school leaders.

Change the Equation

Committed $75,000 to Change the Equation, a CEO-led initiative to improve educational opportunities in STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) subjects in the United States.

The program aligns corporate efforts to improve STEM teaching at all grade levels, and to inspire more girls and minorities to pursue careers in these fields.
