Contegra® Pulmonary Valved Conduit
The Natural Tissue Conduit Offering the Essential Features of a Homograft with the Convenience of a Bioprosthesis
The Medtronic Contegra® bioprosthesis consists of a heterologous bovine jugular vein with a tri-leaflet venous valve and a natural sinus slightly larger in diameter than its lumen.
The conduit has been preserved in buffered glutaraldehyde solution in a concentration low enough to preserve the flexibility of the leaflet material.
Indications:
The Contegra® conduit is indicated for implantation into patients under 18 years of age presenting with the following clinical conditions:
- Correction or reconstruction of the Right Ventricular Outflow Tract (RVOT) in congenital heart malformations (e.g., pulmonary atresia, pulmonary stenosis, tetralogy of Fallot, etc.).
- Pulmonary valve replacement during the Ross procedure
- Replacement of a previously implanted but dysfunctional pulmonary homograft or a failed pulmonary prosthesis.
Contegra® is available only in international markets where Contegra is released and pricing is approved.
