SureScan® Pacing Systems
SureScan is the first pacing system approved for MRI use. As part of comprehensive patient care, it is important to understand how to identify a patient who may have received an implant with a SureScan Pacing System, and to understand the pre- and postscan steps to ensure that every patient undergoes an MRI scan safely.
SureScan pacing systems are MR conditional designed to allow patients to undergo MRI under the specified conditions for use. A complete system, consisting of a Medtronic Revo MRI SureScan IPG or Advisa MRI SureScan IPG implanted with two CapSureFix® MRI SureScan leads is required for use in the MRI environment. Any other pacing system combination may result in a hazard to the patient during an MRI scan. When programmed to On, the MRI SureScan feature allows the patient to be safely scanned while the device continues to provide appropriate pacing.
