Training and Education

Physician Training
Prescribing physicians are encouraged to contact Medtronic
and request a referral to a physician experienced in the
surgical and/or implantation techniques, operational
characteristics and functions of the Enterra Therapy system
prior to prescribing the device for the first time. All device
programming should be by or under the supervision of a physician
or other experienced medical personnel familiar with the use of
the programming software.

Patient Counseling
The patient and family should be advised of the known risks
of the surgical procedure and the therapy as well as the
potential benefits. The patient should be advised to read
the Enterra Therapy patient guide.
