A Medtronic Pain Management Resource

Did You Know

Two new neurostimulators from Medtronic are providing individuals with improved programming and control for chronic pain relief. RESTOREADVANCED™ and PRIMEADVANCED™ are now available as rechargeable and non-rechargeable systems, respectively.

How are RESTOREADVANCED and PRIMEADVANCED different from other Medtronic neurostimulators?

RestoreADVANCED and PrimeADVANCED

The benefit of these new systems is in the programming. RESTOREADVANCED and PRIMEADVANCED neurostimulators offer enhancements designed to make them as easy to use as possible. With the ADVANCED line of neurostimulators, you can:

  • Associate different levels of stimulation to various activities and times of the day - such as walking, sleeping, sitting - day and night
  • Assign a name or icon to up to 26 stimulation settings so they can be easily accessed
  • Quickly find an optimal pain relief setting
  • myStim® diary automatically logs stimulation usage patterns for your doctor to evaluate

What is the difference between rechargeable and non-rechargeable neurostimulators?

RESTOREADVANCED is a rechargeable neurostimulator equipped with a battery that can be recharged. This battery has a 9-year FDA approved battery life, the longest lasting in the market. This is helpful to people who require stronger stimulation to relieve their pain.

PRIMEADVANCED is a non-rechargeable neurostimulator designed for people who do not have high energy needs or do not want the maintenance of a rechargeable battery for the management of their pain.

Is the ADVANCED line of neurostimulators right for you?

Talk to your doctor about whether RESTOREADVANCED or PRIMEADVANCED neurostimulation systems are right for you. It is possible that your current system may still be best for you. Each neurostimulation system is designed with special features and with different types of people in mind. The new features included in the ADVANCED line of neurostimulators may be of more benefit to some people than to others.
