September is National Pain Awareness Month
Welcome to the Living Well newsletter, dedicated to the thousands of people finding chronic pain relief with their Medtronic Pain Therapy.
Chronic pain is a serious public health issue that affects over 70 million Americans.1 For this reason, Medtronic is providing you with this special edition of Living Well to bring your attention to National Pain Awareness Month. In 2000, Congress declared 2001-2010 the Decade of Pain Control and Research to make pain a national health priority. Medtronic continues to strongly support leading pain organizations that strive to create public attention and generate funding for research that focuses on this issue. Now is the time to generate awareness of chronic pain and create a better understanding among healthcare professionals, individuals, and families who are struggling with pain management. You can play an important role in targeting the business community, legislators, and the general public about your experience with pain and the need for access to pain care. We hope you enjoy this special edition of the Living Well newsletter.
This newsletter includes an article about the National Pain Care Policy Act and its introduction into the U.S. House of Representatives. Also included is an article that highlights information about the Power Over Pain (POP) Campaign. Last but not least is an article that features information about a partnership between the American Pain Foundation and Rite Aid, which is focused on helping customers understand and learn how to manage pain.
