Power Over Pain Campaign
The Power Over Pain (POP) Campaign is a grassroots effort with the purpose of increasing the number of Americans receiving effective pain relief. The goal of the POP Campaign is to inform, motivate, and harness the millions of voices of people affected by pain in order to raise public awareness and promote the best pain policy, legislation, and practice. You can participate in this campaign and work to increase pain public awareness, provide education on pain, and improve pain policy activities in your community.
Becoming part of the POP Campaign enables you to join a national network of people creating organized, nation-wide efforts to eliminate the undertreatment of pain. Through the interactive Action Network and the resourceful Action Manual, the POP Campaign provides you with ties to current state and national actions, as well as the tools to improve pain management through public awareness, education, and pain policy advocacy. The Action Network is a newly developing grassroots network of volunteers – people with pain, caregivers, and healthcare providers – working in collaboration with other advocates, professionals, and organizations to implement targeted national and state-based advocacy, media, and educational efforts. The Action Manual provides helpful tools and guidance for engaging in POP Campaign activities such as writing letters, communicating with the media, contacting legislators, and reaching out to the community.
