These workshops consist of an introduction to high-speed motors, exposure to a wide variety of attachments and explore many dissecting tool shapes and their dissecting characteristics. Anterior spine, posterior spine, graft harvesting, minimally invasive spinal applications, cranial opening, cranial closure and skull base micro-dissection will be simulated with emphasis on dissecting technique, tool selection, safety and efficiency. These workshops consist of an introduction to high-speed motors, exposure to a wide variety of attachments and explore many dissecting tool shapes and their dissecting characteristics. Assembly, care, maintenance and use of all product lines are thoroughly explored through hands-on exercises with animal bones that simulate many spinal and cranial surgical procedures and situations. Current Legend® products as well as the Midas Rex® Classic, Midas Rex® III motor, Mednext® and Triton® will be covered. Midas Rex® Institute Certification will be provided upon completion of the module.
Provider Approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider Number CEP 13668 for 8.4 contact hours. Contact hours will be awarded based on satisfactory completion of the entire course. Partial credit will not be awarded.
|  | Combination Courses
These courses are a combination of Midas Rex® Institute modules followed by medical education courses taught by surgeon faculty on cadaver specimens. The Institute Modules (8 hours) consist of an introduction to high-speed motors, exposure to a wide variety of attachments and explore many dissecting tool shapes and their dissecting characteristics. Spinal and/or cranial surgical procedures will be simulated through hands-on exercises using animal bone. Emphasis on dissecting technique, tool selection, safety and efficiency will be addressed. Cadaver specimens will be used on the following days to practice surgical procedures stated in the specific course announcement.
These courses are supported by an educational grant from the Midas Rex® Institute. Enrollment and fees must be made through the cadaver course organizers.
Midas Rex® Institute Certification will be provided upon completion.
