PS Medical CSF-Ventricular Reservoirs (above) are available in several
configurations differentiated by inlet connector orientation
and dome diameter. Each model has an injectable translucent
silicone elastomer
dome, polypropylene needle guard, radiopaque silicone elastomer
ventricular catheter with right angle clip (side inlet models),
and a stainless
steel stylet or quick-release introducer. The reservoirs are
designed to allow multiple punctures with a 25-gauge or smaller
needle. Integral
connectors facilitate attachment of a ventricular catheter.
The non-metallic design of the reservoirs prevents image distortion
with CT or MRI
scans. The radiopaque indicators provide an indication of reservoir-to-catheter
approximation. The 12 mm convertible reservoir, specifically
designed for use in neonates, is fabricated with a short, preformed,
right
angle intracranial catheter. Convertible reservoirs may be converted
to CSF shunt components by cutting off the outlet tube plug
and connecting the outlet tube to a shunt valve or to a valved
catheter.
CSF-Ventriculostomy Reservoirs (shown above) and CSF-Ventriculostomy
Reservoir Kits are Burr Hole models featuring removable reservoir
caps.
All models can easily be converted to a CSF-Flow Control shunt
component. Additionally, any CSF-Flow Control valve can be directly
attached
to any of the ventriculostomy reservoirs. The non-metallic design
of the reservoirs prevents distortion of CT or MRI scans. The
reservoir
domes are designed to allow multiple punctures with a 25-gauge
or smaller noncoring tip or short beveled needle.
