Spinal/Bone Therapies

For people with spinal conditions or injuries, everyday activities can result in significant pain. Medtronic spinal/bone therapies offer pain relief and minimally invasive alternatives.

For Cervical Herniated Disc

People with a cervical herniated disc may experience neck pain, radiating arm pain, shoulder pain, and numbness or tingling in the arm or hand. Our Prestige® Cervical Disc replaces the entire damaged disc and is designed to maintain motion in the neck.

For Lumbar Degenerative Disc Disease

As you age, or as the result of an injury, your intervertebral discs can lose their flexibility, elasticity and shock-absorbing characteristics, which may cause back or leg pain, tingling or numbness in your legs or buttocks, or difficulty walking. The recommended course of treatment for this condition – lumbar degenerative disc disease – may be spinal fusion surgery. Medtronic developed Infuse® Bone Graft and the LT-Cage Device to fuse the spine with bone you regrow on your own, eliminating the need for the additional bone-harvesting surgery required with some spinal fusion surgery.

For Spinal Fractures

A spinal fracture (vertebral compression fracture) occurs when one of the bones in the spine fractures or collapses. Kyphon® Balloon Kyphoplasty is a minimally invasive procedure that can repair spinal fractures.

For Spinal Stenosis

Lumbar spinal stenosis is a condition caused by narrowing of the spinal canal, which can result in nerve compression that causes pain. We offer a treatment for spinal stenosis called the X-Stop® Spacer, a minimally invasive implant designed to alleviate painful symptoms.
