Safe by Design, not by Chance
Medtronic has spent more than 10 years conducting extensive research and rigorous testing to design a breakthrough pacing system that allows patients with a pacing system access to MRI scans, under specific conditions.
MRI: Imaging Procedure of Choice
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) allows doctors to see internal organs, blood vessels, muscles, joints, tumors, areas of infection and more, without X-rays or surgery, and without exposing patients to ionizing radiation. MRI is the standard of care in soft tissue imaging, providing information not seen with X-ray, ultrasound, or CT scan. MRI is therefore critical for the early detection, diagnosis and treatment of many diseases.
The Advisa MRI SureScan pacing system is MR Conditional designed to allow patients to undergo MRI under the specified conditions for use. A complete system, consisting of a Medtronic Advisa MRI SureScan IPG implanted with two CapSureFix MRI® SureScan leads is required for use in the MRI environment.
