Consulta Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy Pacemaker

Overview

Consulta® CRT-P is an implantable heart failure heart device that provides pacing to help coordinate the heart's pumping action and improve blood flow. Because it is completely automatic, it constantly checks your heart and the device, and adjusts as needed. During your clinic visit, a programmer will provide reports to help your doctor check both your heart and your device.

Features

Completely automatic – continuously and automatically checks your heart and your device, and adjusts therapy to meet your changing needs.

OptiVol Fluid Status Monitoring  Fluid build-up in the lungs is a frequent problem for individuals with heart failure. OptiVol is a tool that helps your doctor better manage your heart failure by monitoring your lungs and chest for signs of potential fluid build-up. It can detect an increase in fluid days ahead of any actual symptoms.

Accurate Diagnostic Data   Cardiac Compass® trends and the Heart Failure Management Report let your doctor monitor your heart function, activity and device information. This allows your doctor to see how well your device and medications are working together, and how your heart function may change over time.

Medtronic CareLink Network  Your doctor can periodically check your condition and the status of your device remotely, without you coming into the clinic or when you travel. This does not take the place of your regular device check ups.

Size and Placement

The heart device is surgically placed under the skin, typically below the collarbone. The electrical leads are threaded through a blood vessel into your heart.
