Other Medtronic CRT Devices
Overview
Medtronic cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) devices send tiny electrical pulses to the lower chambers of the heart, helping it pump blood more efficiently in people with heart failure. Some CRT devices are combined with a defibrillator function to treat fast heart rates (CRT-D) and pacing function to treat slow heart rates. Other CRT devices include just the pacing function (CRT-P) to treat slow heart rates.
Medtronic CRT devices have a variety of features that enhance therapy and device follow-up, for example:
Conexus® Wireless Telemetry – allows remote monitoring of your device; device information can be collected and transmitted automatically, even while you are sleeping
OptiVol® Fluid Status Monitoring – monitors fluid build-up caused by worsening heart failure
PainFREE™ Therapy – designed to deliver painless electrical pulses, potentially eliminating the need for a shock
Medtronic CareAlert® Notifications – monitoring features that can signal your clinic if your heart condition or your device status changes
Advanced Diagnostic Data – data gathered long-term to help manage device therapy and disease progression; includes Cardiac Compass® trends and the Heart Failure Management Report
