How long will I need to stay in the hospital for shunt placement?

Most people leave the hospital within 2 to 7 days, depending on their clinical progress.

What happens after the procedure is over?

Immediately after surgery, you’ll go to the post-anesthesia care unit. You’ll stay there for close observation for about an hour and then go to your room.
