About Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillators
Does your health history put you at risk for sudden cardiac arrest? If so, your doctor may prescribe an implantable cardioverter defibrillator (ICD). ICDs may terminate 98% of potentially life-threatening arrhythmias.
What Is It?
An ICD is an implantable heart device about the size of a pocket watch. It is implanted under the skin typically just below the collarbone on the left or right side of your chest.

Our Implantable Defibrillators
An ICD continuously monitors your heart. If a dangerous and potentially life-threatening heart rate is detected, an electrical signal is sent to correct it.
