Activa Therapy uses electrical stimulation to safely and effectively manage some of the most disabling motor symptoms of advanced Parkinson's disease and essential tremor. And with a Humanitarian Device Exemption from the Food and Drug Administration, Activa Therapy is also helping to manage the symptoms of primary dystonia.

Activa Therapy enables many patients to have greater control over their movements and get a “second chance” at life.

Activa Therapy System

Activa Therapy is delivered by the surgically implanted components of the Activa Therapy System. One or two leads are surgically implanted in precisely located targets in the brain. A subcutaneous extension connects each lead to a neurostimulator, which is typically implanted near the clavicle.

Activa System
Activa Therapy is a proven treatment. Since 1996, more than 30,000 patients worldwide have benefited from Activa Therapy. The Activa System has consistently demonstrated a high level of reliability and the therapy is typically well-tolerated.
